Overview
The insight week consisted of being exposed to a different department each day and completing a task associated with that department. These tasks were of a similar nature that of a trainee solicitor. In addition, outside of our independent time to complete the tasks assigned to us, I had the opportunity to meet several people from across the firm and ask lots of questions.
Skills
Yes: communication skills, listening skills, networking, drafting, legal research, attention to detail, resilience. I was able to develop these skills throughout the week in various departments.
Business Insight
The firm were able to offer a very broad and in-depth understanding of the business and different roles throughout the week by organising us to work in different practice areas each day and have the opportunity to speak to a range of their people and ask questions.
Culture
The company culture was extremely welcoming and friendly. I felt as if I could go up and speak to anyone and ask questions.
