  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Communication across departments within supply chain and other functions to enable commercial projects to be launched successfully. Communication with suppliers to obtain quotes and support capital projects

  • Developed large amount of communication skills, organisation, teamwork. Also lots of knowledge about manufacturing, supply chain, all the supply chain functions but also in other departments e.g. R&D, sales etc.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes - essentially given responsibility for a L6 role (placement students are L2). also given responsibility to manage projects in region of £30-50k and also working on a £2M project.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Good guidance from line manager through weekly support/coaching sessions. Lucky to have a good team around me. Could be better support from the supply chain function in general, rather than just your team.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Very chill - not afraid to voice my opinions or go and speak to site leaders when required. Company culture could be better as not much social activity outside of work or general 'fun'

  • Personally really enjoyed my role and the responsibility I was given. Lucky to have got a good role within a good team that exposed me to all areas of the business

  • Don't be afraid to challenge things! A lot of things here aren't perfect, so if you see things that could be better make some noise about them!
