Overview
It's a week long virtual experience. Very fast paced and I feel like I have learned a lot in one week. It was a great insight into consultancy and what it's like to work at Capgemini. I met the wonderful Capgemini employees who were our tutors throughout the week. We helped a real client to solve the problems that they were facing. Overall an amazing experience.
Skills
I've learnt a lot about consultancy and what it's like to help out a real client. I've learnt effectively communicating with the client, and helping them identify issues that need solving urgently. Our team met regularly with the client, and therefore ensured that the solutions we develop actually address the clients needs.
Business Insight
I've gained a huge insight into consultancy, and the different departments within Capgemini. We worked alongside tutors who were employees at Capgemini, and each tutor had a different background prior to their current role, eg some were coming from a programming background. Therefore the experience was very rich and very insightful.
Culture
Culture is very relaxed and friendly, tutors wanted to help us out and were very friendly. The presentation at the end of the week was a bit nerve wracking, but the rest of the week was amazing. Meeting with the client, and meeting with the tutors all had a very friendly atmosphere and was about helping the client solve their problems.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it, it was an amazing insight into consultancy and it was great to meet all the tutors who helped us and taught us a lot throughout the week. Meeting with the client was amazing too, it was really exciting helping the client identify the problems that have the most impact, and then coming up with solutions in our team.
Yes
It's a really exciting opportunity, I would recommend everyone to apply if they're looking to gain an insight into consultancy. It gives you a good introduction to what it's like to work at Capgemini. I would recommend to create your CV by attending the CV workshops if they're offered by your university.
