  • Received one to one mentoring from junior traders. Received small group mentoring from a senior trader. Participated in Amplify trading simulation. Learnt about trading psychology.

  • I was given a lot of responsibility. I had to arrange my own meets and trade with minimal knowledge to gain real life experience.

  • I was given a lot of support during my placement from my junior and senior mentors. They provided me with advice on my future career, gave an insight into what it’s like to work at RBC and taught me more about the financial markets.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company atmosphere was fantastic! It was very fun and lively. The staff were very welcoming. The culture is very big on collaboration and it’s very notable. All the colleagues support each other and celebrate each other’s success.

  • I enjoyed my internship very much! I learnt a great deal about trading and has encouraged me to pursue a career in this industry. It was insightful and provided me with the knowledge and support to potentially flourish in trading

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Royal Bank of Canada
  • The advice I would give is be yourself. The people at RBC will appreciate you for you. Show genuine interest for the division you apply for and research RBC in depth before applying. Try to connect with the interviewer and talk about financial topics that interest you and not just topics that you think they want to hear.
