    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

    • I was responsible for management of the highway network and its condition using tools such as GIS, Confirm (AM system) Access and Excel. I managed data related to highways and managed highway asset inventory’s for all assets on the highway network. (Gullys, signs, carriageway ….)

    • I was given much the same responsibilities as the full time staff however I was unable to do any site based experience due to COVID restrictions.

    • I received plenty of support for the role I was in and have still received support from various employees after my placement finished

    • The general culture was very pleasant to be around. I felt included within the team and was grateful for the level of responsibility I received

    • I would suggest to put yourself out there and ask plenty of questions. The team members I worked with were more than happy to help and answer any queries I had.
