    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Providing Process engineering support for new products being developed including making recommendations on new equipment required for production, validating equipment is replicable of full-scale lines and going through change management. Planning and running virtual and in-person trials on a range of different equipment and projects some involvement in different sectors of the business - marketing/ food safety/ product development

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given the responsibilities of a full-time employee through this role. I was the lead process support on many of my projects. Whilst support was readily available, I was trusted to make major decisions, such as purchasing capital equipment to facilitate trials. I also planned and ran trials.

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • PepsiCo provided a wide range of support, line managers were incredibly approachable and easy to talk to with good advice. mentors and buddies were provided for professional development and outside perspectives on projects. also received support for personal issues through HR and line managers. the whole company was incredibly development focussed and keen to provide growth opportunities - within reason, you can request opportunities you feel would help you develop .

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Incredibly friendly and welcoming. my wider team in particular was incredibly open and chatty in non covid times there is lots of socialising outside of work, the team has a younger core of workers and many students return
