    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I assist with the day to day running of Out of Town Retail and Leisure Parks. I participate in a wide variety of different tasks including arrears chasing and updating systems. I also have direct contact with clients and assist with larger tasks such as budget setting and reconciliations. In addition, I am working towards the first year of my APC.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • My IT skills have become more developed through working regularly with both Microsoft and the various Savills systems. My verbal and written communication skills have also improved. I am able to client calls and also speak to the tenants through both phone calls and emails regularly. I now have a wider understanding of Property Management and the different day-to-day tasks a surveyor is likely to deal with. My lease reading skills have also improved.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given a lot of responsibility throughout my placement. This included regular interaction with a variety of clients and taking on larger projects such as EPC portfolio reviews. I frequently read through leases to check specific clauses and had to take action accordingly. I felt very supported throughout the process and was able to email both my line manager and wider team with any queries.
