    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • I found the whole experience to be fun, whilst also being challenging and educational.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

    • The people in the office were generally very friendly, everyone seemed to be genuinely interested in what I was doing.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

    • Everyone was helpful whenever I needed guidance. My "trainee buddies" in particular were great; they really made me feel at ease.

    • I had something to get on with pretty much all the time.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    • I was given tasks I thought were genuinely helpful for the team, which made me feel satisfied with my work.

    • I developed skills and acquired knowledge which will serve me well in my professional career.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • The atmosphere was more relaxed than I was expecting. Everyone seemed to be free to walk in and out of each other's offices.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?

    • It was mostly very well organised, although at times there were organised meetings in the middle of the day which sometimes clashed with other tasks.

    • I feel that a lot people really put time in to making my experience enjoyable and useful.

    • I will be joining the firm as a Trainee Solicitor!

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • We had a couple of really enjoyable organised events, and I was also invited to a departmental event, which was great.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

    • It is an expensive area.

    • There are some really good areas to socialise in within walking walking distance.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?

    • There weren't many activities to do, but we were able to contribute ideas for charitable giving, which I thought was pretty impressive.
