    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • i really enjoyed the placement as i was able to do what i wanted and how i wanted. i was given the freedom to do tasks the way i wanted. i enjoyed the placement scheme at Intel to a great extent. out of all the placements ive seen the one at Intel is the greatest to be at, as all the jobs are up to you. Also the people there are really nice to make the working area very good to be in.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone at Intel is very nice and warm to talk with. its a open place where everyone is treated equally. i feel very good working there and recommend the placement experience to anyone who wants a great place to feel included at any level of the hierarchy of managers who act like peers. This is the best place to be if you want to feel included and part of the team you are in and the greater company.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The extent were i was given support and guidance by management and my supervisor, was quite allot. if i ever needed help or advice they were always free to talk to me and help as much as possible. also they were able to help me connect with others who could help. i think Intel is very homely when it comes to the support you are given as it is always available but all you must do is ask.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The amount i was busy on a daily basis ranged from super to not so much but the overall average was perfectly balanced like all things should be. This would mean i did days where i worked from, 10 - 3 or days where it was 8 - 6 but my managers were fair so as log as the work was done i could work around that. All the work i did was quality work.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • The amount of responsibility i was given during the placement was like every task i was given i was my own leader and i was deciding what i wanted to do and how i wanted to do it. it was all my choice and this taught me when i make mistakes what i should do and what it takes to do tasks the right way not the fast way. the responsibility was all up to me and my actions.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The extent to what i did, the skills i developed, and training i received, assist in my degree studies and beyond as all the skills are transferable. all the skills gained can be used in my degree and in my future jobs. Intel teaches you to be able to do certain things that are normal in companies but not taught in university or schools. also they have their own house university that teaches you new skills.

    The Company

  • the general atmosphere in the office is warm and very lively. everyone is working hard but always up for a chat. the work place is clean and very professional. its very open and access to areas are fast and people are always there to help you as much as possible. its a great place to work and very much would recommend. also the atmosphere is the same from office to office everyone is very nice and respectful.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • it was very well done. can recommend to anyone. The wellness of the organised at the overall work placement and internship set up. there is someone in charge of everything. this makes it easier to get stuff done and know where to go if you ever need anything. plus the organisation of the hierarchy at Intel is one to be known as its well put together and everything has a place and everyone has a place.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company invested allot into me including, training on machine learning and new products. training was taught throughout the year and was often asked to do by managers to get yourself up to date with current products or current solutions to upcoming problems. its very well done and easy to follow with plus since many people will have done it you can always ask for help in person. Intel does this very well and the development was great.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Future employment is great as if you do well and you do enough on the placement you can even get job offers before you leave Intel. as long as you are a good employee and do what you must or be asked to do and make sure you do it well, it helps loads to get a job after. The skills taught and learnt are good to carry forward, they are big skills as well.
