    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Overall great company and great people to work with.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt part of the team but sometimes looked down upon as an intern by other teams/managers.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had manager and colleague support throughout my placement and it was frequently reviewed.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Could have been given more tasks and things to keep me occupied daily. Often fluctuates so very quiet one day and very busy the next. No 2 days were the same though, no repetitive tasks involved.

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Just the right amount. I was allowed to manage my own projects and stakeholders. If I wanted to do a piece of work outside my job description it was supported.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Training was excellent and will be useful in the future. My business accumen has greatley improved but my IT skills have not been used - I had a more businessy role in facilitating the creation of reports/website add ons etc

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Great atmosphere and not too serious. Quite relaxed about dress code and flexible working hours if you have to go somewhere during work hours. Easy people to get along with and lots of out of hours activities to get involved in.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Could have had better integration at the beginning with my team and more help settling in. I was not very busy at the start of my placement and often doing odd jobs (testing etc) here and there. Would have been good to have more of a plan around the work i would get invovled in in the first few months.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was encourages to take additional training courses like presentation skills and agile methods to improve my knowledge.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Above 25 days holiday

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Not sure whether I would want to be doing the same role as I would like more use of my IT skills and less business process analysis. Would love to work for the company again as there are lots of perks and great atmosphere.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Social scene is great. 60+ interns every year who organise many activities. Also lots of events put on by work.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Cheap accommodation and very nice flats/houses. Going out is relatively cheap considering it is not a student town they still put on drinks promos etc.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Limited numbers of clubs and places to go but with 60 interns you make your own party.

    4/5

  • Lots of sports and social clubs and intern activities.
