    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed my placement very much as I gained insight into roles and industries in areas that I am interested in. The placement has provided me various opportunities to develop as a young professional and I would recommend the placement to everyone who wants to gain insight into one of the largest professional services network.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • From day one, colleagues treated me with the same level of respect as those in any other position. I was trusted with core deliverables in each project and always felt I was a valued member of each team. All my colleagues have been incredible and I was always able to express my concerns, opinions, what I would like to do more, etc.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Support and guidance was incredible, the amount of time and resources spent on providing me with both when I needed it was more than I expected. Support and guidance was available for everything that I needed, including guidance in project work, support in personal matters, support with personal development, and much more.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Each project is different depending on factors such as which phase of the project we are in, because I had worked on a project where deadlines were fast approaching and I therefore had some long hours. Although generally, the workload was good and I therefore had a good work-life balance.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a lot of responsibility, which is exactly what I wanted. As a result, I was worked on and developed some really key deliverables. Before joining, I did not expect to be trusted with, for example, deliverables that would be presented back to the client for key decisions.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The Industrial Placement has allowed me to develop skills to be a well-rounded professional. Alongside this, I was involved in development and other technical roles which has provided me with insight into numerous tools and technologies which so far has been really useful for my final year project and modules.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere at the office was much better than I expected it would be before joining. I thought it would be more corporate but instead was more laid back and enjoyable. There were plenty of breakout areas to catch up with friends and colleagues, which improved the atmosphere a lot.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Absolutely seamless, the work placement could have not been any smoother in every single aspect including the interview process, the training opportunities, rolling onto the first project, placement catch-ups, etc. I have had no issues at all related to the placement and as a result could have not been any better.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Once again, personal training and development is amazing, the firm heavily invests in each and every individual, and equally in those on placements that are only there for a few months. I was surprised to find the range of opportunities out there for 101 classes, certifications, networking events, and much more. This without a doubt is a 10/10. It shows how much the firm cares about every individuals development.

  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    International Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I was given a full-time graduate offer to come back to the firm after I complete my studies which was a no-brainer for me and I therefore accepted immediately. It is a relief to know that I have secured a graduate role at such a great firm, which also allows me to focus on my final year studies.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were more socials than I could count. We had a few socials for just placement students, but alongside that, there were socials happening constantly for all colleagues to get together, where it be project socials, service area socials, team socials, etc. It was a lot of fun and a great opportunity to catch up with and get to know colleagues.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • In terms of living, the firm is London based and is therefore pricey, but socialising in the area that I worked in was 9 out of 10 times free and a budget was provided by the firm to organise socials. So if we managed to stick to the budget, it was all free.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • London has a huge nightlife as anyone knows, so therefore there was no shortage of things to do! The firm hosted great events which were located in some amazing places, so my overall experience was amazing. I'd recommend the area to anyone that has an interest in nightlife and are looking for things to do in general.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • The opportunities are truly endless, for me, the definition of outside of work was activities I was involved in that were outside of the project. There were numerous societies which covered a range of different interests, there were opportunities to get involved with charities, and so many more interesting things.
