    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my internship. It was highly stimulating and gave me a chance to push myself. The London environment was very exciting for me also, having never worked in that city before! I would definitely be keen to work for Deloitte in the future and would recommend others to apply for the internship.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I did feel valued by my colleagues. They made sure that they praised me for good work and i received positive feedback when I added value to projects. They were very welcoming when I came into the firm and this offered me a chance to get to know them all personally.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was supported quite a bit by my managers, but a lot of the work depended on independent working and that made an environment where you had to learn fast. It was the best thing for the interns because that meant we had to ask questions and be proactive throughout.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was very busy on a daily basis. I was always asking for work and people were very good at involving me in projects; again, much of the drive to get involved came from the interns, but my colleagues were always very keen to get me involved in any way that they could.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Of course, we could not provide much advice at the start of our internships because we were busy learning some basic content as to what the job entails. However, by the end of my time there, I was trusted more with bigger jobs and roles; it was a good balance of responsibility I felt.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • This is certainly the case, that my skills I developed during my internship shall assist in my degree and indeed my job going forward. There were so many skills that could be transferred, such as good business writing and communication skills, which I definitely noticed improved throughout my time there.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was good and very welcoming. If you had a problem, you could go to another colleague and ask for help, which was always nice to know. There were plenty of friendly faces, but at the same time, you were expected to do your job. Again, a good balance.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The work placement was very well organised. It had a proper structure to it (which apparently quite a few other internships do not have) and you are looked after throughout the process, in addition to learning a huge amount. It was a very useful introduction to the company and to the working life.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm heavily invested in me, both through the amount of time that people spent with me, teaching me how they did various jobs; additionally, they invested a lot in terms of ensuring we had a social-side to the internship, getting to meet other interns at socials and what not.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Future employment prospects are very appealing; they seem to have considered everything in terms of your welfare and they do as much as they can to support you throughout all that you do. As I mentioned before, there are plenty of opportunities in the firm, if you do your job well.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a great social scene amongst the students, with many of us wanting to meet up after work to go out for drinks at the local pub or what not. They really encourage that kind of activity after your working day to get to know one another! It is really good fun.
