    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Was very happy and satisfied with the internship. Company is super versatile and there are a lot of projects one can be involved in.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Always felt like part of the team. Everyone is very friendly and pleasant to work with.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Anytime I had questions/ needed something, my supervisor/ manager was always there for me.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • As I had to complete a project within 10 - weeks time, I kept myself pretty busy. However, I knew other Summer Interns in different teams who had moments of not doing any work. I would say as long as you are eager to learn and try new things - and you ask for work - there will be plenty to do.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was tasked with creating a platform that would make the work of roughly 1.8 - 2K people more efficient, so I'd say it was a very important task.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills developed from the placement did not really contribute to my degree, as I am studying Mech. Eng., and I was doing a Project Management role. However, I was able to learn about different aspects of PM, which contributes to my future career plans.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere is amazing. Company culture is very pleasant. Feels good to be working there.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship did not have an exact structure. Your work will depend on the business area you'll be placed in, on the workload, on your line manager/ supervisor and on how much effort you will be putting.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Plenty of modules and courses you can be enrolled in.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Strongly considering to come back.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Was acquainted with other Summer Placement interns and some Graduates. Occasionally went out for drinks.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Really depends on everyone's perception of "expensive/ cheap". My opinions is costs are decent/ great - especially in comparison with London.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Birmingham offers plenty of options for nightlife.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • The office had couple of clubs. Also, some teams/ groups of people get together certain days of the week after work to play badminton, football, tennis, etc. Moreover, various events get organized quite often.

    4/5
