  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I had a fantastic time working for Intel! Worked in a fantastic Finance team and was involved in many projects and initiatives throughout my plcement.

  • From day one, I was given so much responsibility and was treated with respect by my colleagues, as opposed to being made to feel like a student.

  • My manager and supervisors provided an incredible amount of support throughout my time here, allowing me to develop skills that will only boost my employability prospects.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • In regards to my workload, I have been very busy and achieved so much but always had time to take part in other activities, such as helping out with Charity events and Guide Dog days.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was treated as a valuable employee and given so much responsibility throughout my tenure, with myself taking charge of meetings and being involved in valuable projects to aid the future of the company.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills developed in my internship will definitely help with my studies as I can use real-world examples and experiences to aid any argument I put forward. The skills I have enhanced, especially like that using Excel and PowerBI Dashboard creation, will help with any job going forward, especially in data analytics and graphic illustration.

  • The atmosphere in the office is professional but welcoming. People are very kind and flexible.

  • My internship was organised with the utmost professionalism, as I was given so much to do to keep me busy and it allowed me to expose myself to other segments of the business.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company invested heavily in me, as they had the faith in me to be involved in valuable and sensitive projects. Also, the knowledge my team has is incredibly valuable for my development going forward

  • Intel provide many opportunities around the world, and can be part of a number of teams with people who are some of the best in the world in what they do.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • At Intel in my year, there was around 35 interns based in the sane office, so the social scene is excellent! Many planned events to wind down after a hard week's work.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Swindon is fairly cheap compared to other areas of the UK. Depending on the number of people living in the house and where the house was situated, rents ranged from £240-£550 for those in my year.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Nightlife is fairly decent, a few clubs and bars to go to but there was always enough to enjoy a night out, if you spend it with a good group of people.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Whilst I was here, I took part in many events, including corporate game days, charity initiatives, Guide Dog Days and looking after children in the hope to inspire them into developing skills for STEM roles.
