The Role
A really well run placement. Every aspect had a purpose which highlighted the importance of the role towards the success of Foxtons.
All of the 'interns' were from different backgrounds and universities which only made the internship more enjoyable. Everyone worked well as a team to get the job done. The whole companies workforce made a friendly work atmosphere and something that I valued whilst working in the HQ.
Supervision was excellent and something that should be applauded.
Foxtons have a 'work hard, play hard' ethos and they have balanced this perfectly. You are always kept busy with interesting tasks which made the working day feel very short.
We were instantly immersed in the daily roles of employees. However as the placement was only 6 weeks it was hard to really be given enough responsibilities.
For anyone that wants to understand a fantastic business strategy this is where to work. It's highlighted in every aspect of the operations. Being able to see this in action has made it easier for me to relate theory to practice.
The Company
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
If you are willing to work hard the financial motivations are definatly there. Also as the company growth is constant the possibilities to move up the ranks quickly are recognisable.
The Culture
As mentioned above the intern team was perfectly balanced with everyone, and something that the recruitment team has designed for a more enjoyable placement. Weekly drinks, meals and entertainment occured in the vibrant city that is London.
As the HQ is in Chiswick it was cheaper to socialise compared to the city, however as I am currently studying in Liverpool the prices were higher.
London is amazing for nightlife with a massive varation on what/where you can go out.
There were planned nights out for the intern team, which were excellent. However you can always go out more often in my opinion.
