The Role
I really enjoyed the internship. Having done a similar placement in finance I thought the atmosphere at Foxtons was brilliant and much more upbeat, it was great to work in a young company with like minded people.
We got the opportunity to meet with a number of people across the company; they were all interested to hear our opinions and made a lot of time for the interns. Working on a sales desk gave us the chance to add genuine value.
The HR team running the internship and my department head provided a huge amount of support and guidance; I am still in touch with them now.
Workload varied. The team were keen to ensure a healthy balance of sales work, socialising and project work.
I have not come across another internship which offers you the chance to gain first hand sales experience and pitch to a COO.
In terms of people skills I would honestly describe what I have learnt as skills for life. The presentation and business acumen skills I learnt have been valuable in both my studies and career.
The Company
A lot of fun. Although the sales floor is fast paced and everyone is very focused there is still a big emphasis on enjoying yourself.
Organisation was great. Different theme every week concentrating on a different part of the business, gave us fantastic exposure.
We were treated like full time recruits throughout in terms the training and investment we received.

The Culture
We got taken out a number of times and invited to the summer party. All the interns got on really well.
London is always going to be expensive for students.
Based in West London so loads going on at night.
Yes, Foxtons puts a big emphasis on team building/socialising and interns were fully involved in that.
