    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I had a fantastic time while learning all the time. Each day was different, fresh and exciting, each week posed new challenges and experiences to take on and enjoy.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • We were all welcomed as part of the Foxtons team, assigned responsibilities and tasks just as any member of staff.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • There were dedicated members of the recruitment team supporting us at all times, as well as individually assigned Team Leaders and a network of Senior members of staff happy to guide and help.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Each day and week were planned in advance with timetables issued. Every intern had a clear understanding of the structure, requirements and responsibilities assiged to, and expected from, each day. Care was taken to ensure there was enough time scheduled for each activtity, more relaxed assignments were combined with more intense weeks to make sure the right balance was achieved.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Following a 2 week period of training we were trusted to be responsible for bringing in new business, speaking to clients on a daily basis as well as completeing weekly challenges.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • A gained a clear understanding of a working buisnness environment in a unique company. By completing tasks covering promotion, marketing and corporate sales as well as many others my skill range widened extensively. Arguably the greatest improvement was in my public speaking, an invaluable asset in all walks of life.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • An intense, hard-working environment that balanced perfectly with a playful reward system, team games and sports to break up the day.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Each week was regimentally ordered, planned and executed. The programme was excellently thought-out and organised to get the very best results from us interns and give us a truly outstanding experience and invaluble insight into the company.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We were valued as a long term employee from the outset. The programme began with the same 2 weeks training that any new Foxtons employee undergoes. As the weeks progressed we were set new tasks to challenge and inspire us and given feedback for everything we did. As the programme drew to a close we were offered excellent career advice, business advice and CV help to assist us in the future.
