Spring Into Deloitte Review

Really good introduction to the different divisions within Deloitte. We had the opportunity to meet experts in each field and ask them questions regarding their responsibilities and also the application process.

Everyone had the opportunity to contribute to group work and share their ideas.

Lots of guidance. People working in each division (human capital, tax, audit etc) joined in with the group work and gave us their expert opinion on how they would tackle particular problems.

It made me aware of what content I learn from my degree is important in the professional world.

Very well structured. We were all given an itinerary too so that we also knew what to expect.

Very friendly. I was at ease the entire time; the staff were very approachable and everyone else there was really friendly.

They brought in staff from different offices across the UK to give talks and work with us. I really appreciated the time they dedicated to this.

We were only given insights and very simplified examples so I don't think it gave an accurate understanding. However, the general skills required and the structure of a full-time employees day was well demonstrated.

The staff we got to speak to had all good things to say! A lot of attention was given to asking each other what diversity, culture and inclusion meant to us, reflecting the values of the company.

I can't say that it helped me come to a definite decision. There is a lot more research I have to do myself before I can really decide what I want to do in the future. Nonetheless, I know that Deloitte offers a great range of jobs to choose from and that the opportunity to try new things is also available.

up to £50 per day was reimbursed for travel expenses only. The insight programme was 2 days, with one night accommodation provided, however it started at 9 on the first day meaning that many of us had to sort out additional accommodation for the night before, which was not reimbursed.

Yes at lunch and dinner staff joined us and we had the opportunity to network then.

Yes. It is only two days long but the information you receive definitely gives you an indication of what you might want to do in the future. Even if you decide it is not for you, other skills are learnt on this insight day for example interview skills, presentation and group work skills and body language techniques.
