    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Really helpful insight into what working for a firm like Deloitte looks like. Deloitte were very generous and provided great accommodation and food throughout the event. I felt very welcome when at the offices and it was a very well structured few days which flew by as we were always busy.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt very valued and wanted throughout the few days. Everyone I met was really friendly and showed Deloitte in a good light. It definitely felt like the event was about us finding out more about working for Deloitte rather than a competitive environment for them to find out more about us.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Lots of guidance was given over the course of the two days, including panels of current employees, guest speakers, general talks by directors and a networking dinner. All the information was available and interesting. Everyone was more than happy to give advice and answer any questions I had, big or small.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • We completed an activity where we pitched to members of the Deloitte team, simulating what it might be like to work for Deloitte. We received valuable feedback and were given an insight into the sorts of skills needed to work for a Deloitte. As the placement was more insight however, developing skills wasn’t a key part of the two days.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • I thought it was a very well structured event! The two days were tailor made to give a well rounded insight into working for the tax consulting team, and felt like the perfect amount of time. It also wasn’t too intense and we were given time to relax, make friends and network.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere was great. Everybody was really friendly and happy to talk and give advice. The networking dinner on the first evening was great and gave us an opportunity to talk to people who worked for Deloitte in a more relaxed environment. We even went to the pub afterwards to watch the football!

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • As it was an insight programme, I’m not sure this is a fair question. However we were told about the training opportunities available to summer interns and graduates, both of which seemed valuable and gave the impression that Deloitte is a place where you are invested in as a person.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • 5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight definitely helped a lot. There were a few dedicated talks on the variety of initiatives Deloitte do as a company, including pro bono projects. The community atmosphere also came across in the talks, where the employees seemed very happy to work there and share their experiences with us.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The content was very valuable. I definitely now feel I have a good understanding of what working for a big 4 firm is like. Before the event I was very unsure of what I wanted to do, but now I definitely have more of a solid understanding of where I want my career to go.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Deloitte were generous enough to pay all travel expenses (up to the value of £50 per day) as well as providing amazing accommodation and a three course meal in a 4 star hotel. For an insight programme I felt it was more than adequate and couldn’t have asked for more.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes, there were many opportunities to network and meet employees. On our first day we had a panel of analysts and consultants we could ask questions to, some of whom stayed for a networking lunch. The same evening we had a great networking dinner where consultants, analysts, and even partners were there to chat to and learn from.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Very good. There were plenty of opportunities to network throughout the few days. The networking lunch, dedicated networking dinner, as well as the multiple opportunities to chat to current employees working at the offices gave a real insight and invaluable opportunity to network and keep in touch with likeminded people and current professionals.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes. Deloitte were very keen to share the opportunities available to you when working for them, and it was definitely something I found interesting and attracted me to a career with a big 4 firm, especially Deloitte. Opportunities included football tournaments, charity fundraising events and travel opportunities around the world.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Definitely!
