About You
I enjoyed it very much as it was one of the ideal jobs that i would want to work in the future
I was valued for the work i did but since my work experience was short, i did not have time to bond with all the other employees
I received guidance every day and they've supported me throughout the time i worked there
Some of the theories that i had learnt in university were used in practice therefore it had been a beneficial learning experience.
The Company
Not very structured as I only knew what I was doing on the day.
The atmosphere was great, all the employees were cheerful and friendly.
They did not invest much on me but the staff were very helpful and trained me through setting me some tasks that i would be sent off to complete. Whenever I was set a task, it would be explained to me about what needs to be done, and they will show me a couple of examples before letting me do it.
as this was one of my first experience completing a work experience that was related to my studies and what i wanted to do in the future, it helped me to understand what they do day to day. it also made me realise that this was something that i wanted to do after my studies
Not much as i was doing this part time for a short period of time to fully understand the culture, i believe that if i had been there full time, I would have understood it better. I feel like i required at least 3 months to have understood the company culture
It was very valuable as this was related to my studies and i had been able to practice what i had learnt from lectures, textbooks and seminars in real life. It helped me to understand my subject better and also made me a little more confident that i can pursue this career.
Everything Else
I had not been paid or reimbursed for my work or travel as this was a short work experience that i had attended. I didn't have much travelling to do. however food was provided for during my stay. The point of this insight was for me to experience working in a company related to my career.
Not many opportunities as I had been working with a couple of people in a small group but i had been able to meet a couple of people who I can contact in the future if I wanted references or find out if they have any vacancies left in that position
Since I had been there for a short period of time, I did not have or find many opportunities but I am sure that they would have had those networking and social events opportunities, but it was not available during my time there. I have been to the job careers fair before I had worked here but not to one while i was working
No, I did not have time for those activities as I was there for a short period of time. And the activities that they have are usually for their full time staffs who are working there permanently. As it was only a small work experience I had attended, I did not know much about them.
Yes, I would as it had been a nice working there and this insight was actually recommended by a friend therefore I would do the same and recommend someone else to try it out. I may try to apply in the future if they have any vacancies in the future
