    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The internship was really insightful. I was given tasks right from Day 1, and felt like I was learning on a daily basis. The team I was with made sure to organize my schedule in a way that ensured I was given as much exposure to the work as possible.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was meant to have just one buddy but I felt like I had many people I can turn to for any sort of help I required. I felt welcomed at the start of the internship, and by the end of it, I had developed great connections with my immediate seniors as well as the top-level management.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My colleagues were delighted to help whenever I needed anything or was unsure about something. They checked in on me regularly to ensure that I was satisfied, and also encouraged me to ask as many questions as possible. The high level of clarity on my tasks and responsibilities was very helpful.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I had enough tasks to keep me busy every day of my internship. In addition, my schedule was organized to allow for variation and exposure. This meant that I was able to figure out what I enjoy and what I don't enjoy as much, by trying my hand at different kinds of tasks.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I appreciated how the level of responsibility was adapted to how much I was willing to, and comfortable with taking on. The level of responsibility increased throughout my internship, as I started to gain a better understanding of the business and the clients. At the same time, I was provided with ample support and feedback.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I developed have definitely benefited me. Even though I spent just six weeks at Deloitte, I was given enough exposure to help me improve my communication skills (especially within a professional setting) and my ability to collaborate in a team. I also felt like I understood the importance of curiosity and staying informed.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The general atmosphere in the office was very warm and welcoming. The people in my team were very approachable and friendly, and that allowed for interaction with people from all levels of management. For the most part, there is hot seating as well, which allows for flexibility and collaboration in daily work.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Within the team, my placement was organized in a very holistic manner- I had the opportunity to try out various projects and tasks, attend team relatted social events and travel nationally. I would've preferred a few more opportunities and events to interact with interns from other departments and service lines.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • It is apparent that the firm invests in its Summer Vacation Scheme. I was very impressed by how the induction was organized for such a large number of students. An entire wday is spent on IT Training and firm-wide induction. Over the course of the six weeks, there are a few compulsory training modules that you are required to complete.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The possibility of securing a graduate role was discussed from Day 1 and there is ample information given out about this right from the beginning of the Vacation Scheme. HR offered a discussion call halfway through the scheme, in case of any questions and feedback related to the placement and conversion interview.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was just one event organized for London-based interns. There weren't too many opportunities to mingle with fellow interns.
