    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • 1. Great company spirit 2. Ambitious company goals 3. Fast evolving business 4. Flexible hours 5. Broad business - in terms of scope of operation 6. Large multi-national company that keeps a sense of community 7. Large network of undergraduates 8. Lots of opportunities to get stuck in with projects 9. Full of helpful people 10. Treated just like every other employee

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt valued just as much as any other member of the team, there is no distinction between undergraduate and normal staff.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Guidance from my manager and other members of staff was always available, but I never felt micro-managed.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Days had there ups and downs, it was often the case that I had to source work, but there was always something to be done.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given work that made a significant difference to the company, I felt like I made a real contribution. That being said, I never felt stressed.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I feel that I largely developed my PM skills, organisation & time management skills, and my Excel skills.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Really really good, everyone was happy and helpful, and was really chatty and friendly.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organised, there was a laptop and a desk waiting for me on my first day.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Highly, i had opportunities to attend a range of courses at Warwickshire college, courtesy of JLR.

  • Really exciting looking graduate opportunities with an excellent pay and scope for growth.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a good social scene at JLR, but I was not so involved in it as I was placed at a satillite site where there was only one other undergrad.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Reasonably expensive area (Leamington Spa), but I found a cheap house to live in.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Poor, there weee a host of bars but only two night clubs.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were a host of activity opportunities that were arranged in an i’undergrad Facebook page.
