    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • On the whole, I thoroughly enjoyed my placement. My project was extremely interesting and was in the field of my interest. Wider communications on the placement and more tours of site/departments could have been organised to give a better experience.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt like I was a valuable member of the team and my project drew a lot of interest from those around me. There was also a good number of undergraduates which was good for networking.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given good support from my team and my manager. I had regular informal catch ups with my manager which was very useful for progress in my project.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • On a daily basis, I was fairly busy but if there were more tours I could've filled my time a bit better.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a fair amount of responsibility for my placement but I would have enjoyed being a little more involved in the supplier meetings to see different potential technologies.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I believe I have learned a lot in project management and skills in different software. The skills I have learned will be useful within my final year of university and after I graduate.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was very relaxed and the people around me were very friendly. The team and the wider team were very good.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I feel my project was well set but the information given from HR was either non-existent, very vague or late a lot of the time.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I had a lot of options to get training and development. The company pushes these courses quite well.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The company is very forward thinking and the area I was working in was what I was interested in. It seems as if they are expanding within electrical which is good news.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a big group of students based at Liberty Point in Coventry which was very good for networking and socialising.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The prices around Coventry were very good.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife wasn't bad but there could've been more options locally.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I believe there could've been more opportunities to get involved outside of work.

    3/5
