    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was absolutely brilliant! It wasn’t quite what I expected, and that was probably because I was so nervous. I enjoyed it because it allowed me to do what I wanted to do — which is to express myself. That is something you do not get so much with other companies. Adidas is huge! It’s an opportunity, go for it!

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Very valued, I would say. I think I was valued because my opinions were being taken care of, they were being respected and put to plan. It made me feel a part of the community. It all happened rather quick, too. I guess this is a company that cares! It’s definetly a team.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Someone was always on hand if I needed help. The one thing you should always know when being part of Adidas, is that you are not alone in searching for brilliance. Someone now and then will always check on my progress. The truth is, it couldn’t have been any better. :)

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It’s defin work. I wouldn’t say it’s non-stop, there were a few moments where social gatherings were happening, and I was a part of that too. It’s very busy, yes... but not to the point where I felt stressed at what I was doing. Sometimes... it helps loving or liking the things you are a part of.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I wasn’t exactly running the show. However, there were times where I was at the forefront, albeit very few times. I would say that I had people on my side. And when it came to group discussions, that was responsibility at a minimum. Being at your own desk... that’s definitely responsibility.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Skills for life! That’s pretty much what I can say. If anything, it’s all about the experience, that’s what will help you grow as a person. Getting this opportunity, it’s helped me grow mentally, it allowed me to take a big step forward, and my time with Adidas does not stop here.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Pretty good! Very chill. Good, positive vibes. Just idyllic. It’s an environment that people generally need to focus, an environment to connect with others, too. Plenty of music kicking. Just something that you should definetly think about before taking this step, if you don’t like a positive atmosphere... this isn’t the place for you.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Pretty smooth running. No fuss, no problems. I had everything I needed. Or rather, lack of it. As long as you have a strong mindset, you are good to go. Hunger and desire to go through the day is what is needed more than anything. Just take a look at the top Adidas athletes.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Now this is something I can’t really answer, purely because I don’t know. I will only know the answer one in a few months time. Hopefully, everything is good... but if anything, it all seemed pretty positive. They must have put something in for me, seeing as they believed in me. But again, time will tell.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Financial Bonus

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Positive feedback, for sure. However, as stated in the previous question, it’s a matter of time. I’m hoping to hear from them in the distant future. I also asked other colleagues how I went on, it was all positive feedback. Wether I’m needed or not remains to be Seen. I can only hope.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • It turns out I was the only student there. Surprisingly there was only one spot. However, I was told I was one of 6 applicants. So this is something that can’t be answered properly. But again, back to the previous few questions... atmosphere is brilliant! There isn’t much to ask for.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Pretty cheap. If you can afford the travel... not a problem. I was reimbursed, anyway. So... if you think that money would be a problem... not at all. Not too much to complain on this front. In fact, nothing to complain about. Expect it being expensive... it all goes back to you.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I didn’t stay up late, so it’s something that can’t really be answered. It just depends on you.

    1/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Not really. Yes, a few. It just depends on the character you are... there are options... but it’s down to how you spend your lunch hours.

    2/5
