    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I struggled initially because this was my first time moving out as well as moving 100 miles away from home, and starting a new job all at the same time. I can honestly say becoming a part of Bosch was a welcoming and easy process. Everyone is so friendly and helpful.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • You set the expectation of everyone knowing you're a student, and treating you like one. But all your colleagues treat you with high levels of respect and also give support where needed. When you do a good job they are sure to tell you!

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Management have been great so far. Questions are answered and challenges are set. It's very rewarding.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Due to being part of such a massive organisation, it can be up and down. Majority of the time I had things to do that were of my own responsibility, and you have control over your own tasks. During quieter periods there is always opportunity to ask for more.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Enough responsibility to know you have a role in the business, but never too much that you cannot humanly cope. It's a good amount of responsibility to be able to learn and enjoy the placement at the same time.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I feel as though I have learnt so much in such a short space of time. You learn a range of different skills through just your job role as well as further training provided by Bosch. All of which i will carry with me in the future and continue to learn throughout the remainder of my placement.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very positive. People are welcoming and you do not feel as though you couldn't approach anyone you walk past in the corridor. Although it can be relaxed at times there remains a business atmosphere in ensuring things get done. But a friendly one.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There were not issues upon starting at Bosch. My predecessor had many notes and information to hand over to me, and it helped me to learn efficiently. I was introduced to the team and was informed of all necessary information early on.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • My manager and I have weekly 'catch-up' meetings where we discuss tasks for the week as well as how I am doing and a chance for me to raise any concerns. All students are also enrolled into an external training programme that improves day-to-day skills in a fantastic way.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Future employment seems great at Bosch and I have already met many people who have completed their internship and returned permanently. The only reason it does not appeal to me is due to the location, but by the end I may have changed my mind!

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Living in a house of all other Bosch interns was a great choice. We regularly arrange gatherings and nights out which is fun. We have learnt so much about each other this way and also met people from around the world. I have already met some great friends!

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost of living is not too bad, and our house is quite nice for having been always rented to students. The area we live does not provide much socially but we can very easily get the bus or a tube and there is plenty to do.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Just a bus journey away there were plenty of pubs and things to do in the evenings. We are also not too much of a distance away from central London which has great nightlife.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I have not yet looked into this - there are many sports and social events that we can get involved in at work but I have not fully explored yet. i'm sure there is plenty to be involved in as it is London

    3/5
