  • Colleagues at my office was really friendly and helpful. Whenever I had a problem I could just easily approach them and they would help me with anything. Also, I didn't feel excluded baring in mind the age and time in industry difference. Overall I really liked my colleagues as well as made some friends.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager was the best manager I could have asked to start my career in engineering. He was really helpful and positive person. I could approach him whenever I needed a hand and he would help me and answer all the questions that I had for him even not work related.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was usually given quite a lot of tasks to do during the day time. If I would finish my task way before the end of my shift I would just go and speak with my manager and he would give me another task to start, or I would just ask my colleagues if they needed a hand with anything.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As it was my first time working in industry I think I was given quite a lot of responsibility. Bearing in mind that I did not even finished my degree yet. I think this made my internship even more interesting as I knew that the work that I do really matters.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I believe the training and skills that I gained during this internship will really help me in my studies and beyond. As I learned a lot about highways and how to design them as well as how to use different software or fill in the required documents. Also learned a lot about diversity and working culture in an office.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in my office was really good. I was feeling welcomed by everyone. I was to leave my office colleagues at the end of my internship as I made some really good friends there as well as learned a lot and had a chance to work in an industry that I enjoy.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I believe the internship and placement set up was organised pretty well. As I was having a lot of work to do most of my time as well as covering a lot of different topics. However in the beginning there was some issues with the payments and other stuff. But overall it was really good.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I would say this company really invested in me in terms of personal training and my development. As I am not a graduate yet I had to learn a lot of new things which was done with a help from my colleagues. As a result I think they had to put a lot of work and time to teach and show me everything.
