    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my internship at Centrica and all it had to offer me! There was nothing within the 10 weeks that I did not enjoy and got fully involved in all that I could.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very valued by my colleagues, far more than I expected! Despite being unfamiliar of terms and practices at the beginning, my colleagues still treated me with respect, ensuring I felt valued and a team member.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My supervisor has given me the perfect amount of support. He has allowed me to gain independence whilst helping me with areas that I am unsure of. The balance has been well struck with the amount of guidance given. I feel that time was always given to me when needed.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was busy every day of my placement and always had something to be getting on with. I had regular meetings and particularly enjoyed days I got to spend away from the office, which gave me lots to do.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given work to do that I was solely responsible for. My time management and completion of objectives was my own responsibility and I enjoyed that this was the case.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills and training I have developed will be hugely useful to me I future studies and in all that I do in the future. Training, such as professional courses, that I have been involved in has been thoroughly beneficial and enjoyable.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office was a great place to be. I felt very welcome within the office and would like to express how nice everybody was to me during my time here. Everybody was very friendly!

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The overall internship has been well organised. I would like to express how helpful Lois has been throughout. However, communication between those in Windsor and other locations could be improved to help interns who aren't based there.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I feel that the firm has invested in me, presenting me with several opportunities to develop my skills with professional training courses.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Car

    National Travel

    Healthcare/Dental

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Future employment within this organisation is hugely appealing to me. I would love to be involved with this company in the future as I feel that it is a working environment which would allow both benefit to me, and to the company.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There is a good social relationship between the interns here. However, the social relationships with others within the office were not as strong as those between the interns.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost of socialising and food etc. was low where I was based. Rent was covered by the organisation and I therefore did not have this outgoing cost.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I have heard that the nightlife here is good, but have not experienced it much for myself. The restaurants and bars in the local area are good and provide a good opportunity to relax on weekends and at the end of the working day.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were some opportunities but not many. As a smaller office there is less going on, than perhaps at the head offices.

    3/5
