    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my time at GVC and felt that there was a right balance of training and also giving me responsibility on certain projects.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Whilst I moved around different departments of the company, colleagues throughout the company made me feel welcome. They were able to make me feel like I was contributing towards the company rather than just being there for the sake of it.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Even though I was at the company during one of their busiest times during the year, everybody took the time out of their days to show me the ropes and always had time for questions and for feedback on the work that I did.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • This varied from department to department but for the most part I was kept busy with projects with all departments bar one. Thats only because I was with the technology department and I was just unable to contribute as I don't know enough in that area but that was only for a couple of days over 6 weeks.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Again this varied from department to department but in general I was given quite a lot responsibility and was allowed to work on my own projects with quite a lot of freedom.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • This helped me enormously as firstly working with these departments helped me with organisation and time management which will only help me in the future. Also, this has given me a much clearer vision of what I would like to do in the future and actually working in these departments showed me what I am more naturally better and worse at.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The general atmosphere couldn't be any better were everybody is very friendly with the right mix between a professional attitude whilst being able to have a laugh.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I was given plenty of notice what I was doing and with projects lined up for me straight away and in opinion spent the right amount of time between the different areas of the business.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Everybody was amazing with taking time out of their days to firstly welcome me and then giving plenty of time for feedback on projects and really felt that due to that I improved during my time there.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Even though I have three more years of university to go, I would love to work there afterwards as both the people there are very friendly and the work interesting.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I didn't really get to know the other interns as we were working in different departments.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It is based in Stratford so the prices will always be reasonably expensive as it's London but certainly cheaper than central London

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There are good pubs and bars around where I work but I haven't been out there as its too far away from where I was staying.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were quite a few activities with 5-a-side played often which is the only one that I really did.

    4/5
