    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The placement was varied but only because I sought out opportunities myself. Support was limited throughout and often I had to ask or bring it to my managers attention. The work was fun mostly and working across different areas meant networking was vital and is fantastic for taking forward. The office colleagues were excellent in supporting me

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was never told I was valued. Pieces of work from other colleagues was valued and on occasions I was praised but this is something to be worked on. As a team I felt undervalued and didn’t feel they knew the extent of the work I was doing and the standard I was doing it at. This was due to them working from home

    2/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Limited support. I did have to manage myself which has given me confidence going forward! My manager was too busy/working from home/travelling so not much time was given to me. One on ones were very limited. I was left to my own devices which to me signalled trust which I very much valued

    2/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Because I sought out other work I was very busy for most of the placement. I had quiet periods but then ended up taking on multiple projects at a time. This meant it was varied. Travel was frequent and then dropped off. Late nights quite frequently for events

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I took the lead on multiple tasks and projects which I really enjoyed. Time management was vital for the job! Working in a different I was given shared responsibility and felt valued. I had to ask my manager for more work frequently and felt I was given too much admin so I had to ask for more challenging work

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have learnt not only a huge amount about myself but a huge amount about my capabilities. Confidence has increased as a result of amazing colleagues in the office who accepted me and my personality! Training throughout was good and helped in meetings and my interpersonal skills. My networking was recognised and I was rewarded for that so hopefully connections will be made to come back or go onto a new workplace knowing my capabilities

    5/5

    The Company
