    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really love my role. I'm able to get involved with lots of different activities which is great for my CV. I'm also given a lot of responsibility, more than I thought you'd get on a placement. This is great as I'm given the freedom to complete actual real tasks that help the business and I can see what I'm doing is making a difference.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone is really friendly and willing to help you if you're stuck. Permanent staff do make the effort to get to know interns no matter how long your placement is.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager is very supportive and always willing to help me no matter what. My manager is also given me opportunities to have more training to help improve my digital marketing knowledge so I can complete my tasks easier.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There is always lots to do and you will never not have a task. I am super busy but it's not stressful and managers are there to help prioritise work. If I am too busy my manager will help me complete tasks if it is urgent. But generally I can manage my workload.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • You get given lots of responsibility, which can seem scary but it honestly it isn't bad at all. It is great to be given lots of responsibility as I am gaining so much experience which will help me in the future.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Everything I have learnt will help me with my final year at uni and my future career. My CV is full of experience. My placement at Bosch has been really beneficial and there aren't many placements that give you as much responsibility as I get with Bosch, so everything I have experienced is useful for now and the future.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It is very friendly and quite informal. It is an open planned office where everyone hot desks meaning you get to work among senior members which is great for networking. Overall the office atmosphere is good and an enjoyable place to work.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was organised well as Bosch have so many interns, it is normal for interns to be working there. When you start you get a 2 week hand over with the previous interns which is great as you get 2 weeks to really learn everything about your role.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Bosch invest in their interns we get to take part in 5 training courses outside our roles. This is called BUILD Training and an example of the courses are effective communication and time management. This is a great added bonus as these courses do really help.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • There are opportunities to return in the future if jobs pop up however there isn't a graduate scheme for business roles only engineer roles. This is a downside however, Bosch are working on ways to help previous interns return to Bosch.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There are loads of interns so there is always someone to talk to. You are not alone in a big company, there are other interns that get exactly what you are going through. The interns are very sociable but it all depends how much effort you are willing to make.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I was lucky enough to live at home but the area isn't that expensive. London is on your doorstop so there are lots of opportunities. Costs of socialising varies depending on what you do and where you go.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The actual area near the office doesn't have much but you have close links to London.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There are opportunities but it depends if you are willing to get involved. There is a Bosch social club where you can go and play badminton and other sports. You just need to pay £1 a month to be apart of it.
