Summer Scheme Student Review

I really enjoyed my time at Savills. The team I was based in were so welcoming and I was introduced to other teams in the whole office. The work I completed was engaging and I received frequent feedback making the scheme an invaluable experience. There were a variety of events outside of work which added to an all round enjoyable experience. I hope to work there in the future.

As it was a very busy period when I joined, there was a lot of work for me to get involved in. Therefore, I knew that each piece of work I completed was crucial in helping a team member reach a deadline. This made me feel very valued. I also had a steady workload which meant that my work wasn't too bad!

I received a lot of guidance and support during the insight from a variety of employees, whenever I needed any. Everyone was really approachable and I never felt like I was asking any stupid questions! However, I was given my own independence as well, which created a good medium between them both. The HR team was always on hand to help as well.

The skills I gained were invaluable and more applicable than what I previously learned in my degree. As a part of my degree, I have to complete a dissertation and project about my time at Savills. My colleagues will be my interviewees and will assist me with my project! Therefore the skills and information will assist me both in my degree and the future.

The insight was structured really well. There were events throughout the time to help you settle in and lectures to get a good overview of the whole company. There were tasks to complete as well. The process driven nature of the work my team was involved in also provided a good structure to the days. There was never a boring day.

The general atmosphere during the insight was perfect. During working days everyone was really approachable, making the days calm although they were rather hectic sometimes. I felt welcomed and a part of the team straight away, involved in all of the fun. It confirmed that I want to work for Savills in the future if the atmosphere was as exciting as it was all the time.
