    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Really enjoyed working at Savills and with the team that I was placed in.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • A lot of the tasks I was given to do were simple, but I learned a lot through completing them.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My mentor for the month was great as she gave me guidance throughout the month on how best to complete the tasks I was given. I also was given tasks that were valuable in helping me learn about property management and the fundamentals of a lease.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There were periods where I didn't have any work to do, but I was mostly kept busy.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I felt that I could have been given more responsibility during my placement, but I understand that you are limited with what you can do in a 4 week placement.

    2/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Currently I am not doing a property degree, so the skills I have learnt won't directly apply to my degree. However I have learned valuable skills around the way in which people work and how to handle difficult situations when working with others for example. The skills that I have learned at Savills will be valuable to me when I start work.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the office was very positive and friendly. Everyone was welcoming and made sure that I was settling in.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement was very well organized by Savills. Whilst I was there I was given a mentor as my first point of contact who guided me throughout my placement. Savills also set up talks from different departments so we could gain an insight into the all the services that the company offers. Social events were also set up along with networking events with current fee earners.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I felt that Savills had invested a lot of time into making sure that this experience was worthwhile for all interns.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • After spending 4 weeks here I definitely will be applying for the graduate program when I finish my degree. The program was very well advertised to us during the placement, and I feel that the placement was a great stepping stone to getting on to the graduate program.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The social scene was very good with my colleague. Savills set up social events to help us get to know each other. We also met for lunch and drinks after work.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • As my placement was in London the cost of living was very high. Accommodation for me was a lot of money and the cost of socializing in London is quite large.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Very good. Lots of bars and restaurants locally.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I did do a few things after work.

    2/5
