    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Friendly office makes situation comfortable. Well organised activities set up by HR. Sometimes bored and supervisors could be slightly complacent.

    3/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I did feel like a lot of the work I did would have been used which is always nice. Considering my placement was short (2 weeks), I felt I was utilised appropriately when asked to complete a task.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Support was given when required although not always offered.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Often bored but not sure this reflects company but simply property market at the time for my department.

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Given some responsibility from day one. Kept at similar level throughout. Appropriate for my time.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • It has been nice to utilise my studying in the workplace assisting with real valuations.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Friendly although at times a lot of effort had to be made to integrate. More care should be taken to actively engage with new staff. Smiling and saying hello is a minimum requirement in my opinion.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Overall it was well organised but sometimes personal tasks were randomly given which meant some dull and repetitive work.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • As a short placement, before a long one, it is difficult to fully assess this. So far, investment has been good and I look forward to working here in the future.

    4/5

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would very much like to work for Savills in the future.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • This has been slightly disappointing actually. I have made my own social arrangements over the course of the placement since invites were few and far between.

    2/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • My response slightly distorts the situation. I have had to commute from home since living in central London is very expensive, However, being paid meant some social activities were possible after work. The second half of my placement will be in company subsidised accommodation so in this sense the load has been lifted.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Excellent.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Opportunities have not been revealed to me, however, my placement was short so this was not a massive priority. Some external events did take place. No complaints.

    4/5
