    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my placement with Savills, the variety that was provided was great and I felt like I was part of each team that I worked for

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • As previously mentioned I was greatly welcomed into each team and was given actual jobs that were challenging. Being able to work so closely with directors makes you feel appreciated.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given the support that I needed when I needed it, the team and my graduate was there when I needed it, however I was able to do my own work so didn't always need to go to the graduate for more assistance which is very needed in building confidence.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was given my own projects to keep me busy such as writing a full report in valuation, or collecting details to complete a draft set of particulars. Very rarely did I find myself with nothing to do, as I knew that I could always go to someone else in the team for more work.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given plenty of responsibility during my placement, as mentioned I was given my own jobs to complete while the other surveyors were busy with a separate project so all the work put into it was my own

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Everything I learned during my placement is well above the quality of teaching that I receive during my studies, it is easier to learn on the job rather than in a classroom. I had a good base knowledge coming into the scheme which was thoroughly built upon during my time with Savills

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Great atmosphere in the office. Everyone in the office is very approachable and friendly. If there was an after work get together I would be invited and made to feel as part of the graduate team.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Overall the organisation of the placement was to the standard you would expect from Savills, however there were a few issues relating to the gototraining such as muted microphones and not being able to log in properly. I also had an issue when I first started, however this was not due to the organisation of the scheme and more about the team lacking a secretary for the week and thus was a bit lost without her.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company has invested time into my development which is key in improving my skills.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I will definitely be applying for the graduate scheme in September, and hopefully be returning to the same office

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There have been several opportunities for me to go out and network with the other graduates and colleagues throughout my placement.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I had accommodation with relatives closer to Manchester city centre than where I live so the cost of living was cheaper. Socialising was relatively similar to what I'm used to at home but the networking was defiantly worth the cost of a round

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Didn't try it but will be one for the future.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There hasn't been any major activities going on outside of work beside the networking opportunities and the chance to help set up a talk given by several directors in the city hall.

    4/5
