  • I have gained a real working experience and been given real responsibilty during my placement year

  • On average the role requirements meant that on a daily basis I was usualy very busy

  • I was given a lot of responisibility which meant that I have been continuously challenged during my placement

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I feel as though the experience I have had this year has been invaluable and will benefit me massively in the future.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Working within a Japanese organisation meant that the general atmosphere and way of working, was different to my previous working experiences. There is a constant mentality of improvement and efficiency which has meant that in general the atmosphere is very work focussed.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement programme here at Sony has been organised very well with specific days assigned in order to gain a real understanding of the different aspects of the business group. In terms of the actual role, it has been very similar to a permenant role and therefore is structured as if I were a new employee starting.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There has been a very good social scene amongst the interns both within the organisation and working hours as well as outside of company hours. There is also a good community within the Sony family where everyone gets along and works well side by side.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The area in which I chose to live in was very expensive and in hindsight, I would choose to live somewhere less local and more central within London.

  • They area I chose to live in has little or next to no 'Nightlife' as such, however it is easy to travel into London when needs be
