    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my time at the Bank. I was given meaningful work to do and felt valued by the team and the wider institution.

  • I was given very good levels of responsibility and was made to feel like a graduate rather than a placement student.

  • My managers were fantastic and all very supportive - particularly in helping me to learn and develop and providing me with opportunities to further my career at this early stage.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • How busy I was depended on what was going on at that time. The majority of the time I had a good amount of work to do, and it was only very occasionally that I had to work late.

  • I was given a great deal of responsibility and was treated more like a graduate than a placement student.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learned a great deal in my year at the Bank. There are loads of opportunities for furthering your knowledge such as seminars and mini-secondments.

  • The atmosphere in my office was very good. There were lots of socials arranged and everyone was supportive and friendly.

  • It is London so it is expensive. But, you get what you pay for and the opportunities in London more than make up for it.
