    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I have very much enjoyed the Insight programme at Savills. There was a variety of activities throughout the week and I have been involved in working on projects with Chartered Surveyors and graduates. This has given me more of an understanding of the day to day activities of a Chartered Building Surveyor.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Savills have made me feel very valued and have organised social events that have been attended by a variety of people from the company. This has made me feel that Savills really value their employees and have a nurturing approach. This has also added to the friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere in the office.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received a lot of guidance and support. The graduate mentor I was introduced to on my first day has been extremely supportive and has provided me with lots of advise. The senior surveyors were happy to take the time to explain things and answer any questions that I had.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I have used on the Insight placement will be extremely helpful to me in my continued studies and in my future career. I have also gained a lot from the advise from the HR team about graduate recruitment. The departmental overviews were also helpful in gaining and understanding of the different departments and the work they do.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The Insight programme was very well structured and has been seamless throughout. Having an email address and calendar already set up and ready to use saved time and meant that I could start working straight away. Having structured social events was also great as it gave me time to get to know my peers and the current graduates at Savills.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere during the Insight placement has been sociable and positive. Savills made a lot of effort to make us feel welcome and to give as much information about the company as possible. They gave us lots of opportunities to make contacts and ask questions, and the chance to show our skills by assisting with work.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company interests me in terms of career development as they have given an insight into the career pathway and the route through the APC. They offer lots of support through the APC and the chance to do mock interviews and have an excellent pass rate. The rotations offered as a graduate also appeal to me as this will allow a variety of experience to be gained.
