    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Due to the rushed notice of my placement I was worried that there would not be enough tasks for me to do. However upon arriving on my first day it was apparent that there was plenty planned for me and lots of ways to get involved with my Savills team.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I've felt highly valued during my time at savills, from being given personal tasks and projects to under take unsupervised showing great trust. To being invited to seminars and visits in the field I have felt fully welcomed and involved.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • During my insight program I believe that I have received the perfect balance of guidance/support. By having an appropriate level of support it has allowed me to work independently imporving my skills and knowledge. However help has always be present when needed or asked for.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I believe that I have gained skills for life, due to wanting to pursue this as my carer. The information and work that I have undertaken will greatly increase my knowledge for my degree as I have gained insight into things that could not have been learnt in the lecture hall but gain through the previous experience of my mentors.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • I believe my placement wasn't the most structured, working from a rural branch I felt that all the information I was given before the program was very London centric. This ranged from the schedule I was given before hand right down to the online seminars which either were about London and its markets or were un-accessible.

    3/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere in the Savills office is very pleasant, a good group of hard working individuals which gel well and work professionally together. Joining this team for a week has been a pleasure and something I would highly recommend.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I believe the people of my office have invested very heavily in my training and development by not only giving up there time but also their knowledge to provide me with the most interesting and helpful insight placement they could. As for Savills as a whole I felt the online seminars lacked in Relevance to my area (southwest) but also department (Rural) and In most cases didn't work once accessed.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • My insight week has allowed me to see a clear link to the carer I would like for my future, by working with a range of people in all departments I have found the department and job style I would like to work in further. As for my time in the company it has been a great view into the world of Savills and very enjoyable.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • By being such an accepted member of the company from the very first day I've had the opportunity to not only view the culture of the company but to be an active part of it. I have gained the knowledge that the employees of Savills are hard working, friendly and fantastic at cooperating and always willing to help. These combined with the drive to do the best and hardest work they can leads to a perfect Company culture.

    3/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Although having started a degree I still felt unsure of what I could do once finished and looking for work. This insight program has allowed me to see a wide range of roles that I would be able to pursue. Along with this during the week a clear path showed itself and I shall be following it.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • The opportunity for reimbursement has been clearly presented to me, however I have declined to take it due to it being parking which has no receipts and only adds to the minimal sum of £25 for the week. As for Pay, I undertook the placement well aware that there was no pay and valued the opportunity and experience greater than a wage.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • I met the full team of employees on my first day and as the week progressed had opportunities to talk and work with people from other departments during my time. This allowed me to really experience the breadth of work that savills undertakes and the opportunities that are available to its employees.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The events were well structured, with clear topics of conversation and discussion, I didn't feel too out of my depth by the work of my colleagues who took time to introduce to important members of the company and the local community.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • I became aware of the outside opportunities from the Savills Intranet and there regular up dates on the opportunities available. Whilst also highlighting the roles individuals play in the company and there fundraising.

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would highly recommend the insight program to a friend, I would also recommend it to fellows on my degree and people in future asking about how they can get into the same career as the one which I wish to join.
