The Role
It was a great placement, I got the opportunity to travel, learn off very experienced colleagues and have a real impact on the project in which I was placed.
Deloitte places a big focus on learning and helping one another out, there was always someone to ask the silly question to or someone I could approach if I had any issues with.
My manager was brilliant in understanding my potential and giving me responsibility to realise this.
The work life balance was very attractive, at times I was very busy but this is to be expected in a professional services firm
A lot more than I imagined but not more than I was capable of. I was supported throughout the year in managing my responsibilities.
I easily learnt more in my first six months of the year long placement than I did in the two previous years at university.
The Company
As I worked in the technology consulting side of things it was very relaxed and in some parts of the business it had a silicon valley feel to it.
Very well, there was continuous reviews and monitoring of progress to ensure that I was making the most of my time at the company
They allowed me to begin studying towards an external industry accredited diploma, I thought this was very beneficial for my CV and future career.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Travel loan
Very appealing, and provided you impress during the year long placement there are graduate opportunities.
The Culture
Very social, almost every week there is at least one or two events that I had the option to attend.
Northern Ireland is generally associated with a cheap cost of living
Belfast has a great nightlife, although at times options can be limited
Yes there was a number of clubs and societies that one could join. I got involved in a development group and also run a leg of the marathon.
