  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • In hindsight, I have never felt alone during my internship. The staff were very supportive throughout the internship and I could always ask questions when something or a particular task was unclear. The staff was very kind and I felt very valued. The colleagues treated me well, which made the whole experience much more pleasant

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • From what I have heard from my fellow students, the support at UBS was sufficient but not as much as with other banks. Individual guidance was missing but the staff were helpful throughout the Spring Programme. We were encouraged to ask questions and not to be afraid to raise our hand when something was unclear.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The insight programme at UBS helped me to develop skills such as communication skills and public speaking skills due to the group exercises. Furthermore, I learned more about the finance industry as a whole and the core operations of UBS. Hence, I have developed essential skills and knowledge which will certainly be beneficial in the future.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • We were given a tight schedule on our first day. In my opinion, this was a great sign that everything was well structured and nothing left to chance regarding the quality of the spring programme from start to finish. The programme was packed with many activities and presentations. In my view, the presentations outweighed the activities.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was great. There was no competitive vibe and everyone was helpful and friendly. The staff and the colleagues who worked for UBS treated us very well and made sure that we are all having a great time during our internship. In addition, the colleagues were always ready to answer our questions and have a quick chat.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Having taken all these factors into account, I felt UBS invested a lot in me. All expenses were provided. Furthermore, senior managers took their time to speak with us, talk about their experiences and answer all our questions. Lastly, there were prizes for the winners of competitions. Hence, UBS invested a lot of money and time in me and I am thankful for all the experiences and new opportunities due to this internship

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • My day was packed with activities and presentations. However, in my view I was happy that I was busy throughout my internship because this meant that I was making full use of my time and not wasting a minute of it. Except of a few breaks you can expect to be busy over the whole day. This helped me to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with UBS
