The Role
I enjoyed getting out of bed every single day of my internship!
You were treated extremely well by the colleagues as a real added member of the team instantly. Lots of shout outs at global meetings etc.
There was always support and training whenever you asked and prior knowledge was NEVER expected
It was the perfect balance of being busy and being able to manage your workload
I was given responsibility of communicating with some of the most senior members of the bank's questions and involved in completing those tasks fully.
Everything that I learnt can be applied to my general work life in the future
The Company
certain areas of the office environment were much quieter than others which showed the importance of choosing the right area to complete rotations and permanent positions
All of it was pre organised with extreme clarity and a million diary requests on day one. Fantastic.
Nothing you requested was ever too much. Could go and look at any other area of the bank just for interest.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Got a job offer with them and a temporary work until I go travelling.
The Culture
It took a while for everyone to get comfortable with each other and then after that lots of people met up all the time and helped each other show various areas of the bank.
Lunch was quite expensive but there were a lot of options to choose from
All the interns went out a lot and all were within a short walk of the office
There were options to get involved in any activities that were offered to full time UBS staff, but the time there is so short it can be hard to get involved.
