    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Really enjoyed my time as Savills, and will definitely be coming back.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Summer was quite busy for the Planning team, and with so many people, there's always work to be done.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Everyone was really accommodating - not one person who I asked to sit down with refused, and those who weren't in the office always arranged a follow up with a phone call.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • This experience has been invaluable in terms of learning experience and understanding how Savills functions as a firm. It will really help when applying for the grad scheme and any other graduate roles to have been here for a month.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Best structured internship I've done to date, a credit to Savills' HR team, who organised countless out of work activities and events for us to go to. We're required to set goals at the start to make sure we're achieving something at the end. Every intern is assigned a graduate mentor to help them with the day to day, and there's an appraisal at the halfway mark where they check that you're meeting your goals, being given enough work, etc.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • It was a surprisingly easy-going environment. People were professional when there was work to be done but were always friendly.

    4/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Lots of time and effort is invested in the interns. Thee are several department overview talks, particularly important for those on the RICS pathway who will be choosing which teams to rotate in on the grad scheme. There was a market update led by someone from the research team and we were always invited to any events that our teams were hosting.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • It definitely helped my understanding a lot, in terms of the nature of projects, the variety of locations and size, etc.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • I feel like I have a good understanding of what the company culture is like now - for such a large entity, Savills is very social, and there are lots of opportunities to interact with people from lots of different teams, not just yours.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Very helpful, since I was getting involved with the day to day tasks of planners

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • You're paid a fair amount and reimbursed for any travel expenses you take on the job

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were lot's of opportunities, but it's also up to you to follow up with people and arrange to meet them if you so wish. Everyone's really nice, and if there's someone you want to meet, you should just ask someone you know to introduce you or drop them an email.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Really good - the frequency of events does depend on the team you are in and who's around, naturally. But there's frequent after work drinks, and we were invited to a summer networking event in the city with other property interns

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Lots of seasonal events, graduate training, conferences, socials, and sport activities to get involved in.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Yes, definitely
