  • Whilst in my team I was immediately welcomed and introduced to all of the team members and checked up on throughout the day. Additionally, all of the team members made sure I had something to do.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • There was a good balance in terms of the guidance I was given and the opportunity of me to work independently. I really appreciated this as I was able to ask questions and gain more information, but on the other hand I was trusted enough to get on with my work and rely on my own knowledge and abilities.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Throughout the month I have been able to enhance a variety of skills including, time management, attention to detail, communication/ client interaction and many more. • The atmosphere within the office was very professional when it came to work commitments, and really friendly fun and sociable amongst the companies employees.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was very well organised. All the insight students were given the opportunity too attend a series of department talks (giving students an insight into the different aspects of the business, graduate recruitment and rotations). There were also a number of social events organised for the students to get to know and interact with each other and all the graduates.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Whilst on my placement I was essentially treated like a graduate surveyor in the sense that I was able to fulfil a number of tasks that graduates would be expected to complete. In addition to this I was able to gain a practical understanding of the valuation process by attending inspections and sitting in on meetings.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I will definitely apply for a graduate position at Savills. I have been given a glimpse of what it would be like to work as a graduate surveyor within the company and have been really impressed with the level of responsibility I have been given and how friendly everyone working for the company is. We were told that Summer Scheme students have a good chance of getting onto the graduate programme.

    The Culture

  • Some of our students organised drinks once or twice a week which was great fun.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • As the office is located in central London, socialising is not the cheapest, but manageable considering students would socialise after work once or twice a week.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • 2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I was given the opportunity to volunteer at the company's auction which was really enjoyable and great experience!
