    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Really enjoyed the variation and exposure I was given throughout my time at Savills. I had a great team and enjoyed coming in to work every day.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • When given responsibility for tricky tasks and getting praised for working well.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Every day, even if my mentor was not available, there was always someone willing to help me out and teach me something new.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Due to the climate in the market surrounding Brexit, things did become fairly slow. However, I never really had time to sit around as there are always people in other service lines willing to teach you about what their every day is like.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • A fair amount

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Having true experience in the place that you wish to work is great experience. You get an idea of the culture and values and what occurs day to day. Small nuggets of information I will have retained without even realising, that I'm sure will help me through my studies next year. As well as building my confidence and enhancing my interpersonal skills.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Really friendly. Relaxed, yet work was still getting done and the big deals were still being won. Definitely an environment I wish to see myself in the future and throughout my career.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Really well structured throughout. Probably the most impressive part of the Savills internship was the opportunities to engage with different work, different sides of the business and networking with different people. There was always someone on hand to help and always work to do. We benefitted from research talks and meeting employee's at every level.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Their time to help us and show us the ropes, expanding our knowledge. It could get quite frustrating having someone new to teach when they're only there for a month but this never came across and everyone was happy to give their time, even though it was precious.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Fantastic. So many reasons why I wish to be invited back.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Always an opportunity to meet with anybody you wish and always encouraged to go for a drink after work!

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Expensive, but definitely a worthwhile commitment. Social scene, one hard to contest with.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Fab but expensive. But still fab!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Plenty of socialising .

    3/5
