    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I think there is no better introductory way into the Financial Services industry than a spring week program, and more precisely at such a bank as Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Not only did I learn about the different business areas, but I also had the chance to meet inspiring people, both from and outside the bank, with whom I want to keep in touch.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Right from the begining, HR will make sure you are always doing something meaningful and valuable. The program is structured in a way in which you will have no time to rest, as there is always something new to learn, or some people to meet. This produces an inclusive atmosphere where one can trully feel included and valued.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The structure of the program is clear and well defined so you always know what to expect. Nevertheless, BAML employees are more than willing to help you in case you need anything.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • You get to learn to work in teams with people you barely know, who are often from different countries and whose culture and religion are different from yours. This forces you to be a better team player, and is a scenario that you do not get to experienced every day. Secondly, you learned what the bank really does, and you get an in-depth view into the different divisions and groups within the bank. You learn how the real world works.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • As I have already said, the structure of the program was balanced and well designed. There were no down times, and you always had something interesting to do. The program perfeclty went from more technical sessions, such as case studies, to more relaxed and social events, such as networking sessions.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Welcoming and inclusive, where no one was left out. It was very easy to meet new people, as everyone was eager to make friends and learn about each other. Moreover, you could appreciate how BAML's employees were as passionate as the students, and they were always willing to talk with you and listen to you.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They went the extra mile by providing both technical and competitive training sessions.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • It gave me the opportunity to talk with professionals who understood my position as a student interested in working in the same industry as them, and so they answered every single question I had regarding the job they had, BAML's culture, etc...

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • On one of the days we had several sessions on BAML SCR programs. I was amazed by how much BAML is investing on empowering local and international communities, as they understand the importance of helping those around them. They do this by implicating their employees in these type of programs, instead of just giving the money away.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It is an invaluable experience as you cannot buy it. If you have the chance to attend this program, you will not regret it one bit, as it will help you decide whether you like this industry or not.

    3/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • BAML covered my travel and stay expenses

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were constant opportunities to network, from networking breakfast and lunches, to career fairs events and after-work events.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • They were very well planned and not at all intimidating. The employees with whom you networked did it voluntarily, so they were as motivated as you.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes, they have "societies" in which you can play sports, volunteer for a good cause, etc...

    3/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Yes, absolutely.
