    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Very much so. I was kept busy the majority of the time and I felt inspired by all the different career options that I was made aware of. I would recommend the experience to anyone because it really gives you a feel for day to day life in the industry.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • The programme is more of a personal learning experience rather than an opportunity to add significant value to the company; after all it's only a week long. Despite this there was a collective team ethos that I felt apart of and I was treated with respect from everyone from the graduates to the senior directors.

    3/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Pretty much as much as I needed. My mentor was always on hand to give me advice on how to complete various bits of work, and the open plan nature of the office really gives you the sense that all the work is a collective effort. The talks provided all the information regarding general advice and guidance that I could have possibly asked for.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • In terms of skills there is only so much you can develop in such a short window of time. Despite this, I would consider the information I received invaluable both in terms of understanding the property industry at a more vocational level and in assisting with future applications to internships and graduate schemes.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Very well. A good mix of talks, tours, networking events and office responsibilities. Highly educational but also relaxed and social, with plenty of opportunities to engage with senior people as well as like minded students.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Friendly and fairly relaxed. As an insight student it's more of an educational experience than a test of your office competency and I felt that this was reflected in the reasonably laid back nature of the programme.

    4/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The City tour was fantastic and the organisation of all the talks and networking events reflected the high level of student investment.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Relative to the programme's length I felt I good a fairly good idea. However, I was not able to attend all the client meetings and site visits that I would do in a full time role.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Given that the programme was only a week long and that I was only working with one department I think a detailed understanding of company culture would have been an unrealistic expectation. On the other hand, relative to the programmes length I felt I developed a general idea about what Savills is all about.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Very helpful, although by no means definitive.

    4/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Up to £100 are allo0ctaed for lunch and travel expenses.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Plenty of opportunities. Drinks, a lunch and everyone operates with a revolving door policy so the opportunities are perpetual.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Very helpful.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Absolutely. My mentor was on hand to answer all my work and no-work related questions.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Absolutely.
