Process any opportunities that come into the team by speaking to the ASM that has submitted the request and figure out next steps. Produce weekly reports, take weekly calls presenting data, shadowing and then training the replacement intern in the final month of the year.
Project Management of interactive workshops and webinars for all Geos across multiple Portfolio Areas. Liaising with Geo Category and Sales Leads, co-ordinating content and identifying improvement requirements. Ensuring successful delivery of the sessions and deploying a robust follow-up process to execute on feedback and actions. I also collaborate with marketing and new services introduction team to create enablement content such as podcasts, faqs, videos & communication messages.
In this role I would need to oversee an inbox that requests would be sent too. I would then need to process these requests and undergo some review and analysis of what is being asked for, as well as completing some routine security checks. I would then present these requests to senior staff members in my division on a daily call, and proceed to accept or reject such requests following the call. In addition to this, analysis of what was being agreed to or not agreed to would also need reviewing to ensure a bias was not being maintained.
Balanced and varied workload, some less exciting day-to-day operations but also larger responsibilities involving handling requests and discounts valued in the millions of pounds. Was also able to work on project management with a small team for internal sales programmes and measure success in these areas.
Business development intern for all data storage products with the 16 countries of UKIMESA. Required to analyse and trend spot each of the product lines, & their market shares. Understanding and using Power BI and Excel to manipulate data. Transforming the way, we visualise and interpret data across multiple geography’s aiding the acceleration of stakeholder’s decision making.
My role within strategy and planning was to help support the Enterprise sales team. This consisted of creating, providing and developing reporting packs and excel documents for the managers to help them analyse their performance, teams and business areas throughout the year. My day to day tasks included completing a number of adhoc requests from both my manager and sales reps as well as help with the change of financial year at HPE and forecasting process.
My day- to-day role consists of creating the forecast file, sending it out to the wider team and responding to any queries or questions they may have. Normally I have some files to create and they include a spend report and any other excel files. Typically I have a forecasting day which occurs once a fortnight which is an all day event.
Main focuses surrounded weekly and monthly forecasting support. Creation of, live updating of and distribution of forecasting files. Data analytics of said forecasting alongside extracts from internal CRM solutions. Current snapshot reporting of country and geo level deal status and narratives around any movements. CRM hygiene and support to sales roles in order to ensure accurate forecasting and alignment of accounts. Information collection for deal reviews by WW. All interactions for this specific role have been internal.
My day-to-day role consists of creating reports to support forecasting activities for the sales teams. On a weekly basis, I created Forecast Files to send to the different teams to provide an accurate forecast for the quarter. I then consolidate these to present to management and to provide details for the monthly flash submission. I also create actuals reports that show all deals that have been booked and an accurate view of the performance of the business unit in the quarter so far.
Day-to-day you will refresh the opportunities dashboard that tracks changes throughout the quarter. You will also regularly join calls with account managers and the wider team to help pursue sales opportunities, update Salesforce and produce financial spend reports. A core role as a Sales Support Intern will be running the forecasting process within your team to track quarterly opportunities. You will have the chance to join customer calls and take part in account projects.

In summary, the most integral part of the role is to assist the NonStop Director in the forecasting process to model expected orders and revenue per quarter and provide consistent updates on the status of each deal per Geographic region and within this to track the shipping status of these systems.
As a Sales Support Intern, I support the Storage and Management team with reporting and sales forecasting on a quarterly basis. In addition, the team get me involved with sales related tasks and projects as well as partner events and initiatives. I provide data analytics on the teams partners indicating where they are doing well and where they could improve business with us.
I am aligned to the Sales Strategy and Planning team and work closely with my manager on analysing data such as forecasting, sellout, opportunities etc. I also provide meaningful and accurate reporting to wider HPE teams to support them in their roles. I update different data sources on daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly basis so that the teams have the most up-to-date data to work with. I also deal with ad hoc requests from my manager.
As a Sales Support intern, the role is very varied. Day-to-day tasks include forecasting calls, preparing sellout and pipeline files, supporting with Sales Force (the online sales platform) and other stretch projects. The role requires good communication with all of the Sales Team to enable them to reach their goals. Very little of my internship year has been administrative tasks with a huge amount requiring basic sales knowledge, which can be developed over the year.
On a daily basis, my role involves supporting the UK Commercial and Public Sector team sellers, managers and Director. My tasks include sending out company emails having put them into our Commercial or Public Sector format and distributing them to the relevant people, hosting PowerPoint slides on team calls and taking the minutes for these calls, which I later summarise to distribute relevant actions to those involved. I also have the task of uploading to our team channels on Microsoft Teams, and making sure the channels and folders on her remain tidy and well kept.
I really enjoyed the year at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. I've had the opportunity to get involved in some really exciting projects that have both expanded my experience for future work and my understanding for where my strengths, weaknesses and interests are. Everyone in the company is very happy to help in making the placement as enjoyable and beneficial as possible. This is absolutely a "proper" placement where you can expect to be doing valuable work and really contributing to the company.
My time at Hewlett Packard Enterprise exceeded my placement expectation. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here at HPE as i truly felt like a valued employee, doing important work, and not just an intern who they did not trust. Despite COVID-19 happening throughout my placement year, i have been able to fully complete my 13 month placement, as well as teaching my replacement intern my role. Overall i enjoyed my time on placement and grateful for the experience.
