I really enjoyed the year at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. I've had the opportunity to get involved in some really exciting projects that have both expanded my experience for future work and my understanding for where my strengths, weaknesses and interests are. Everyone in the company is very happy to help in making the placement as enjoyable and beneficial as possible. This is absolutely a "proper" placement where you can expect to be doing valuable work and really contributing to the company.
My time at Hewlett Packard Enterprise exceeded my placement expectation. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here at HPE as i truly felt like a valued employee, doing important work, and not just an intern who they did not trust. Despite COVID-19 happening throughout my placement year, i have been able to fully complete my 13 month placement, as well as teaching my replacement intern my role. Overall i enjoyed my time on placement and grateful for the experience.
This internship at Hewlett Packard Enterprise provides its interns with an amazing opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative company, gaining amazing experience and knowledge in the industry. The internship program developed at HPE allows interns to have great responsibility and exposure to key business areas while being supported so that interns can get the most out of this program. I have thoroughly enjoyed this placement and have developed and progressed more than I could have ever expected
I have had a great year working as a sales support intern at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. My tear has been full of opportunities, and I have learnt things that I never knew existed. Everyone I have had contact with or worked with has been so enthusiastic and passionate about the role, which makes working at HPE so enjoyable. Working alongside other interns also helped me feel less alone and we were able to work together on some projects.
Massively enjoyed it. Going into the internship the concept of working a 9-5 sounded pretty awful but working alongside a large cohort of interns made the year a lot of fun. The freedom and responsibility given to me made me feel valued and able to do my job my own way which was massively motivating. Further, the opportunities I was given to travel across the country (pre-COVID) to our various offices and customers made the experience even more enjoyable.
I have absolutely loved working for HPE Aruba over the last 13 months. The internship program is simply fantastic. I was not entirely sure what my placement year would entail but I could not have asked for a better year. What HPE and Aruba put together for myself gave me all the opportunities I needed to develop and grow as an individual. The placement year gave me a perfect introduction into the working world and I just loved it.
My placement at Hewlett Packard Enterprise allowed me to involve myself with a variety of tasks, meaning my responsibilities throughout the year evolved to fit my strengths & development. My role allowed me to involve myself with a wide range of individuals across the business, helping me expand my network across teams and at different levels of the organisation's hierarchy. Being based in Erskine, I also had the opportunity to travel to the Manchester/Bracknell/London offices multiple times throughout the year for meetings & intern development days. There were also a large amount of social events & volunteering opportunities throughout the year.
I really enjoyed my placement year at HPE, there was always something for the interns to get involved with, and this gave me a lot of different experiences in the company. I was also supported in my development. HPE is very supportive of their interns.
I really enjoyed my placement year due to the amount of flexibility I was given but also how comfortable I was able to become. This allowed me to increase my overall confidence and the company's culture is truly one that cares about the employees and early careers overall.
I really enjoyed my placement year and got to experience a number of sectors and areas of the business. I felt like a valued member of the team and the company, whilst seeing the value of the work I was producing. I have developed greatly throughout my year personally and professionally, and have felt supported throughout this. I have loved the variety in my role and the opportunities in the business to do things outside of my role either in different departments or volunteering/getting involved in work committees and groups.
The job itself wasn't the best and definitely not what i thought i'd signed up for. I think that the job was 'bigged up' when it was advertised but in reality the job really required very little skills to do. I think i was unfortunate in the team i was put in and the other parts of the business had a very different approach to interns. However, the intern community was great and very sociable. There was always lots going on in the office and events to attend which was a great way to meet people.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at HPE. I had a variety of opportunities to get involved in projects outside of my daily role and network with lots of different people. The skills i developed were both technical and personal and my confidence grew alot.
The scheme is very well run at HPE, they offer a week onboard to familiarise you with the business and put on social events so you bond with your colleagues. The workload over the year is flexible, they allow you to manage what you take on and your supported by managers. I felt like i contributed to the business throughout the year and held responsibility which made the work i did rewarding. I would highly recommend a placement at HPE.
I had a difficult start to my placement year, but as the time went on I enjoyed it more and more. The work itself was interesting at first, and there was more than enough opportunities for me to take on stretch tasks to make sure I was never bored. That, combined with the activities you are encouraged to take part in outside of work, meant I had an extremely enjoyable placement year working at HPE.
One month left into this experience and I can conclude that I will never forget this experience as I feel that a lot of good opportunities can be born from it. All the skills I have developed like working in a team the most surprising one for me and knowing how to deal with pressure will be useful in the future. I see things differently now, as I believe in a real balance between workload and a healthy mind, which did boost my productivity. Even during lockdown, HPE made sure to keeps us busy and offered extra support to employees by giving us a free subscription of Headspace for a healthy mind!
