I enjoyed the professional atmosphere and getting to know the role and the work. Working in the financial heart of London meant that we had the opportunity to get to know one another in a social capacity which helped us enjoy the day to day more. In time I became confident in my abilities and understanding enough that I was able to work with little instruction which allowed me to work to my own standards where appropriate.
Some aspects of the placement were stressful and I certainly felt the pressure, however overall it was a really enjoyable experience, where I felt welcomed by my team and completely supported. There were also multiple team outings which really meant that we became closer and the work environment was an enjoyable one to be in. The long hours took some adjusting to, especially going from a university lifestyle where I could work my own chosen hours, however this did not take too long to get used to.
The work I was given was often repetitive and boring. This could have been completed by anyone and did not utilise my skills or insight as an undergrad. There was little information provided that was relevant to the role I ended up doing for the year, if accurately described I may not have applied. This role has made me hesitant to apply for any more work within recruitment in the future, or indeed any similar graduate programs.
The placement year was good in the sense that I was able to do independent work to an extent. I was responsible for recruiting for one of the key accounts which was very rewarding. I enjoyed the company events and working with new colleagues as well as team meetings and targets. There were many opportunities to excel and it was beneficial understanding the job market and how to succeed in interviews, CV writing and what the employer is looking for.
A thoroughly enjoyable placement year enabling me to gain an insight to office life in London. The team at Randstad were fantastic and I was made to feel very welcome, and part of the team from day one. Although the work could become repetitive at times, the energy and atmosphere in the office helped motivation greatly. A great placement year!
I really enjoyed my placement and I definitely gained a lot from it. Everyday was different which made it exciting and it exposed me to so many aspects of HR and recruitment. I have learnt so many new skills, as well as developing on existing ones, including building on my confidence. All of my colleagues were very welcoming and made me feel part of the team immediately. I always felt like they were happy to help and support me.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year with Randstad. Originally recruitment wasn't something i thought I would go into but after my placement year it is definitely something I want to explore and potentially have a future career in.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement. I was positioned in the North West which was very great and the team I worked with were very supportive and ensured I learnt as much as possible in the time I had there. They involved me in all aspects of Human Resources and recruitment from sifting through CVs to assisting with disciplinaries so the exposure I gained was incredible and has really helped me decide more on my future career path.
My placement year has been thoroughly enjoyable. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming when I started and throughout the year. I was full supported by my manager and peers. The environment was sociable and happy. The role was very rewarding and everyday was exciting. I was supported with anything I needed and I couldn't have had a better placement year out. It was such a great culture to work in and be a part of.
I enjoyed my placement year at Randstad very much! It was a great opportunity where I was able to learn exactly what goes in to recruitment and put what I had learnt in my studies at University into practice. The working environment is very busy! So is great if you enjoy being hands on and having lots to get on with. It is also very target driven, so having the determination to meet your KPI’s is crucial. Nonetheless, my team were great and I was working in a very fun and rewarding environment!
