The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement. The work was very varied and every day was completely different. Some days I was phoning supporters and encouraging them to help with festive fundraising and others I could be working at an event collecting for the charity.
Everyone I worked with was lovely and really helpful if I had a problem. The programme leader was also very supportive. I really enjoyed coming to the office every day and felt like a valued member of the team.
Both my mentor and the programme leader were very helpful. Also everyone else in the office gave guidance and offered support if it was required.
Some days I could be extremely busy but the work was very enjoyable and I never felt overfaced or stressed by the work load.
Me and another intern were trusted with a large amount of work: Festive Fundraising Campaign. Though we had to follow brand guidelines, the design work was entirely our own. During my placement, I felt I had my own project to complete so I felt like I was really able to raise money for the charity and could see the results of my work.
My understanding of marketing has greatly increased and I now realise the importance of branding. My communication skills have developed and I am much more confident talking to supporters. I feel the skills I have developed will help me in future job roles and have benefited my personal development greatly too.
The Company
I have had a great time during my placement. I have laughed lots and had so much fun.
I feel the internship was very well organised. Before my placement started, I received a detailed information pack and then had 2 days training in London where I learnt more about the company and its work. This was also a time where I could meet the other interns and the programme leader before my placement began.
I feel like the company have treated me like an actual member of staff. For the design work I did, the Head of Marketing and Branding Department offered support and guidance which was really helpful for my understanding of branding.
I am applying for the Graduate Scheme and I hope that my time as an intern will benefit my application.
The Culture
Averagely Priced.
The interns were offered opportunities to fundraise at a number of exciting events including Fashion shows, carol concerts and christmas shows.
