    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My role is to support the talent attraction lead in the attraction team to highlight that CRUK is an attractive and inclusive place to work for prospective candidates My other duties include helping CRUK improve their EDI strategies as we strive to make our charity more inclusive, diverse and representative of our society Overall, my responsibilities include organising employer brand photoshoots, running employer brand interviews, c0-managing the Early Careers inbox, and providing general admin support

  • I have developed my time management and organisational skills further by using a daily task list to help me organise my time better to juggle multiple priorities and ensure I have enough time throughout the day to complete each task I need to I've also become more proactive, using my experience from previous roles to help me be on the front foot with my duties, instead of being reactive and waiting for instructions

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I have been given a lot of responsibility, as I have been tasked with co-running our employer brand photoshoots and making sure our participants were in the right place at the right time, as well running the post-photoshoot catch ups with them to hear more about their individual stories and experiences with the company In addition, I've been tasked with co-managing the Early Careers inbox to help prospective candidates with their queries

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I have received so much support and guidance since joining I've attend various training sessions and workshops, as well as informative webinars. As a creative writer, what most stood out to me is my manager telling me to sign up for CRUK writing sessions to develop my writing skills further In addition, she has also recommended a wealth of other opportunities and has supported me if I want to get involved with them

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I am really enjoying it. I've clicked with my manager from day one, and that gradually extended to the rest of the team One month after joining here on a three month internship, I had my contract extended by three months, taking me to six in total It's a great placement in a great charity and one that will help me get to the level I want to achieve one day
